The Metropolitan Museum of Art gets the most visitors, yet many of them are locals. 6.3 million visitors visited the Met in 2015, with 26% hailing from New York City. Only a small percentage of visitors came from outside of the United States and the United Kingdom.

Check out Acadia National Park while you're in the Northeast! Even though it's one of the most visited, it's also the most crowded and smallest of the country's national parks. For the sake of your own privacy, you must reserve a car in advance in order to drive the park's highest road, Cadillac Summit Road.
